[quote name='dapooh65' post='8585' date='May 2 2007, 08:26 AM']SnailDarter...I am too taking my boat this Sat. I'm leaving Boston, MA at 3AM. Please give some pointer like where to launch the boat, then where to park the trailer the where to anchor the boat and do I need some sort of light?
I am sorry for asking lots of question. Because this is my first time squid fishing and I'm not a local. Driving in the dark is hard to find places. I have GPS but not exactly helpful if I don't have a co-ordiantes. Thanks in advance.

Hi Pooh, I am going to launch from a new place that I haven't been to before. It is the Oakland Beach ramp near Warwick Neck. It is close to where I fished last year next to the Quonsset Peir/Airport. Three of us filled 3 5-gal pails in three hours there. It was in 15 feet of water next to the pier. Check it out on the web.
If you plan to launch out of Newport you'll have to use Fort Adams. It is a terrible ramp bbut managable and there is parking. It is only a half mile run with the boat to the goat Island Bridge. My friend Jeff made homemade lights that go on 12V battery and fit in our rod holders on the boat. I also use a underwater squid light made by Brinkman that attaches to a 12 volt battery.
Good luck. Snaildarter <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />
