Mike, you need to take her father out fishing first, just you and him. Show him what a safe and competent captain you are (so no running aground, and don't order him round and make him swab the decks <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ). It will be even better if you can put him onto some fish. As for the squid around Altona - all my squid in the past month or so have been 'bycatch' from just having a jig in the water while targetting flathead or pinkies. I've been getting a couple every trip.
