[quote name='Dani' post='7469' date='Oct 6 2006, 06:15 AM']Still trying to get a chance at squidding after 4 years. But, finally, I have the time. I live on Case Inlet now and I heard, somewhere, that there is some squidding possibility off the Allyn dock. Has anyone tried there? What time of year do they show up? And for how long? Any advice would be much appreciated. I would so love to give squidding a try.
Thanks,

Dani,
Where'd you hear that? I wouldn't doubt what you hear. I'd certainly try squid fishing there, and try it more than once (my husband and I seem to recall hearing this, too). Look for ink spots on the dock, that'll tell you if squid have been caught at the Allyn dock recently.
I would think the squid would be showing up by now - they're here (in Bremerton) in hordes. The squid are here all year, but most people fish September-February/March. THere were a ton of people squid fishing during the day this year at the Bremerton Ferry Terminal. They were doing well.
If you'd like quick squid fishing success right now, drive up to Bremerton. My only concern with the Allyn dock is that it may be too shallow in the Case Inlet for squid to make a home, but I really don't know enough to make such an assessment - I'd definitely give it a try. Is this your first time squid fishing or have you squid fished before?
Good luck and please let us know what you find out!!
Steph
