jazman, i agree that they are one of the prettiest fish. i love the electric fluoro blue stripe pattern they have around their eyes.
alot of my best mates are Greek, so i might give em away if i catch em.... i heard red mullet also have a few bones-which is enuff to put me off. never been a fan of fish that are too bony.
maybe checkin out mornington pier today 19/9/2006 for some squid. havent been too many around . last friday i got onto a nice school of bay trout that went nutz over the soft plastics! but no squid that day.
checked portsea on sunday arvo and as soon as it started to get dark a few came on, but i dropped two and only landed one small one;-) at least its a start to the season for me i guess.
