Are you able to post any photos of the hawaiian squid you catch?[/quote]
I will take some new photos as soon as the season starts, which should be from May thru October. The season is a little late this year but should be going strong by mid June. I will also send pictures of the rigs that I use. I have tried the totally artificial types with very little success except for a home made rig, as described in my first post, but instead of using squid on it, I wrap yarn on top, then coat it with a glowing glue. It works best during a feeding frenzy, where you do not have to stop and change out shredded baits, and waste valuable time in the frenzy. This is really critical because the squid will bite as soon as the sun goes down, and until about an hour after, then the bite reall slows down until it stops. So the faster you pull and the less bait changes you make, then the quicker you can go home. I normally squid for a short period, because I try and go out every dark and windy night, sometimes 2 weeks straight, while having to start work at 5:00 am every morning, so it takes it's toll if you decide to stay late every night and grind it out for a few extra pounds.
