hello all,
been a while between posts i know.. however the squiding is now hotting up..
reports are mid october tru to mid november.. port hacking was a hit and miss affair, if they were there they were good bait size arrow squid, last of november up to present time if you fish the run up tide at gymea baths lilli pilli baths burraneer bay etc, there are squid about and the darker jig colours are the go , such as browns deep blues and dark purples, in yozuri and hayabusa, with the yamashita jigs the naturals range are dynamite, slimey, yakka, pilchard, prawn and mullet are sensational jigs the 2.5 size is definetely the one to go for.
Botany bay (la perouse) was fantastic in the winter with good catches of the larger calamari around the 1- 1.3kg mark, now that the waters haved warmed up the smaller calamari have come out to play, never mind they are always in good numbers, yozuri 2.5 -3.0 in glow belly with orange/black back and same in pink during the last of the daylight and blue/black, purple/black and all black the better option once the sun is totally gone.
till next report,,
keep on squiding.
