Hi Glen, and thanks for a great site.
I think that because squid are sight predators the muddy water makes it hard for them to find the jig. Do you think that squid still hang around in the muddy water, or do they go out deeper to avoid the murk?
Sorry, I wish I'd paid more attention to the state of the pier (it was dark, and I was annoyed that it was closed) I remember some piles of planks stacked near the start of the pier, perhaps work is going to start soon. I hope it does, Mornington is one of my fave piers
