Guys, this is awesome!! I'm so new to squidding, that I haven't even gone yet. But I feel like I'm already addicted by reading the posts I've found here. I was initially interested in trying out for fluke bait and maybe a meal if luck would have it. I was thinking about going very early Sunday morning, as I'm going flukeing with some friends out of Point Judith on Sunday morning. ( I was gonna surprise the fellas with a few squid if I'm lucky) Is anyone going out at that time that I might be able to pick up a few pointers and spots from? I live in MA, so I'm not out fishing nearly as much as I would like, but certainly no beginner in saltwater action. Any help or info would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hello! Welcome to the forum. First you need to aquire some squid jigs. Check your local bait shop. You can also pick up some yo-zuri jigs at Benny's. Pink and green jigs work best IMO. If your heading out at night or early morning, I recomend a light. A good starter would be a coleman camping latern that can be hung near the water. However, you will find many people are willing to share there lights if you asked nicely. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' /> There are many places to catch squid. A well known popular spot is the Goat Island Causway in Newport, RI. Me and some friends will be out fishing sat. night. When where you planing to go? I also have a stock pile of extra yo-zuri jigs I would be willing to sell if interested. $5 ea. Good luck!
Cheers,
