In my opinion you want the longest gun that you can comfortably load and handle. You also need to be strong enough to load it. 4' (120cm) sounds about right for you, but make sure you can pull the rubbers back to at least the first notch on the spear. I think my gun is about 140cm, probably too long for you - but if you get the opportunity try a few different sized guns, it should be fairly obvious if one is too big. The advantage of a longer gun is that the point will be closer to the fish when your arm is fully extended, so the actual shot will shorter. Guns which are shorter and more compact are best suited to spearing in heavy reef and caves.
