Yes, those are some nice squid you got there!!! I wish ours got as big as that. Although we are getting some larger ones this year.
What types of handmand jigs are the locals using, do you have photo's availalbe???? The handmade jigs are very popular here as well. When the squid are in, they hit these jigs really well. The locals are BIG on using extra wide hooks. We also sell supplies for making squid jigs as well.

The squid in your picture look very similar to the southern calamari we catch here in Australia, they grow up to about 8 pounds here, but average less than 1 pound.ÃÂ That is a nice catch you have by the way!
