Not sure what you were quoting here, but as of right now (7:30pm, May 8th) the governor hasn't extended that order past today. Where did you hear that it is being extended? Maybe I am missing something?

That being said, there is currently quite a bit of tension in RI and it might be a good idea to steer clear for now anyway. Quite a few of the governor's orders have been unclear and somewhat contradictory, resulting in very inconsistent handling by individual police officers. Some have refused outright to enforce her orders, while others have been zealously enforcing whatever interpretation they fall on.

 

I think that they are basically doing the best they can with what they have to work with but I'm sure it is difficult when things aren't clear cut.

Out of state quarantine extended until 5/23.  I was surprised when it looked like they let it lapse.  Fear and loathing run deep.
