 Sounds like you have a decent outfit. I never use a sinker unless the tide is really ripping and I use a tiny snap with no swivel which makes it easier for my older eyes to change jigs but also imparts good action to the jig. Squid were hot last year right into mid November so hopefully you ill have more shots at them, and the action should heat up in early October.
