Newport Ri 2016 Squid Season

Due to lack of reports, this will be my last post and report: 

Yesterday in Jamestown the squid were in heavy and we raked in a full 5 gal bucket.  They were averaging 8 inches, but the biggest caught were 12 inches.  There were many shy squids.

Hot color was pink on the rising tide.  

Tonight is going to be hott with the winds in the low 3mph.  

I'd say start wetting your jig at 4pm and dry it out 11pm.

This year's squid session is very late, but it should be strong for the next week or so.

Hey OneEyedSquid, I went the week before Thanksgiving and caught almost a bucket the first night.  The second night was not so good..barely half a bucket.

It's so cold to stay late at night now.  Plan to go again if the squid are still there.  Don't stop posting man.  I was so busy I forgot to post here last week.
