Had to be around 12" I've seen in person. Pictures of
giant squid abound on the net. My personal best has
been just barely 10" Anything over 8" for this species
of squid I consider a large. After reading articles
Gunslinger posted links to I learned these squid could
possibly grow to 16" and they only live for a year, wonder
if they migrate or do they spend their life cycle right here?
When I put my light down you can see loads of tiny shrimp
so there's plenty of food. When you think about the nights
when there's a crowd and everyone is taking 30-100 squid and
multiply that times the nights they are catching, crap how many
squid are there? So if they stay here guess you can catch em
just about anytime. I would think they would stay until the food
source runs out or they can't tolerate cold water.
