Now, I'll throw in my amature marine biological opinion. Apparently, offshore guys had one of their best years for squid. Here in the bay, we had the unfortunate cold spell during March with North winds keeping the water too cold at the last full moon. That combined with the warmer offshore waters in the Atlantic has likely pushed the change in squid behavior. That said, these bottom of the food chain animals have the imperrative to breed so they will com in en-masse. The question is when? Given that they are starting to move in and the full moon is coming, this week is the likely answer. We'll find out next week.
