Hey everyone, first time posting here and very new to fishing. I have been out on the steilacoom pier a couple times with no luck, from what I can see the shore based squid fishing is done until may or so. Can anyone tell me if squid is still viable via boat and share any tips you may have for squidding from a boat.

Also, does anyone have any recomendations on fish to go after from the Steilacoom pier?

Thanks in advance.

Well Let me tell ya something..Many people on this forum likes to stick to something that is familiar to them..(I almost get this feeling that many in the Seattle area in this forum do NOT LIKE CHANGE!!)..Seems like many in the Seattle area like to stick to jigging on the docks..But? Don't let that EVER!! deter you from trying it on a boat...Because Even in Seattle..I remember a time sometime ago when Everyone just had to buy those clunky old oversized lures because everyone else said... "thats what the squids were going for"...

Until the next "BRIGHT and OPENMINDED person" decided to use a smaller and more colorful lures and started to just KILL THEM Squids.....And then everyone else started to use the smaller and more florescent colored jigs...

Yup..All within 10 Years...(NO JOKE)

So bottom line is this...Don't be afraid to try something new.."Who Knows..?" You might be onto something...
