Newbie in WA

Hey everyone, first time posting here and very new to fishing. I have been out on the steilacoom pier a couple times with no luck, from what I can see the shore based squid fishing is done until may or so. Can anyone tell me if squid is still viable via boat and share any tips you may have for squidding from a boat.



Also, does anyone have any recomendations on fish to go after from the Steilacoom pier?
