@Red: Those mini-jigs are pretty good. I had one as a top jig when the run came in. It got fouled up and wasn't lined up right: it was sideways. I didn't want to change it out because the squid were hitting fast and I didn't know how long the bite would last. Squid were still hitting it but I couldn't hook them on it. Luckily my bottom jig, pink pencil jig, was doing good too and when the squid hit the top one the bottom jig was close enough to hook the ones which lingered too close to the top jig. I eventually fixed it and had pretty good results with it. I must say this though: I was doing good. But, two other guys were killing it. They were using pink and white pencil jigs. They had doubles more often than I did and they ended up catching their limits. They left before the run was over. The other two guys did OK. Technique is very important out there and I still need to work on it. The two guys who cleaned up certainly had it. They were catching even before the run came in.
