Personally I've washed my hands of Shimano rods.
Their quality control has lowered, they seem to be throwing Ian Miller's name on just about everything, and their 1 year limited warranty doesn't cut it on their upper tier rods like the Terez and T-Curve.
Shimano should offer a warranty similar to Innovator Rod's warranty (Nitro) on their upper tier rods instead of forcing people to buy a new rod if they have a failure after the warranty is no longer valid.
"As a bonus offer Innovator has provided, free of charge, an insurance premium for all Innovator fishing rods. In the event of a breakage an insurance excess of AUD $60.00 is payable for each section broken - no questions asked!
The fee includes insurance excess, processing, freight/ protective tube and GST. Being an Australian owned and designed brand name Innovator can service your replacement sections faster than any other brand name available - GUARANTEED!"
