I tried one of those submersible lights and didn't have much luck. I spent the night using it and didn't catch anything. A guy comes a long and sets up his big powerful overhead light and he starts catching squid right off the bat. I started catching too. I think my light was allowing shadows to be cast and it spooked the squid until the other light came online. More guess than proof.
