I have the Yamashita squid rod and the Shimano Sephia BB squid rod and both are good but the Yamashita is a much lighter rod. Both arround the $350 mark if buying in Australia and half that from japan.
There is te gladiator and from what I have seen and read they are a cheap rod and tend to break very easily.
Breaden rods are now avaliable here and they are a step above again and so is the price range..
But overall if your startign out the Yamashita rods are great.
I have decided my next rod will be GraphiteLeader rod from Japan and they seem to be the best on the market. but that price range doubles again.
