well my friend if ur after some info on squidding uve come to the right place. take a good look around the forum and ull be sure to find almost everything u need. however here in australia we typically use a prawn style jig (colour and size are ur preference or the squids rather, theres a poll going at the moment on the site so take a look again). the other popular way here is to use a baited jig, where you slide a fish onto a long steel rod with barbs, and sit them under a float (head or tail first ive seen it done both ways) i see alot of american ppl prefer the standard plastic jig that is just an oval shape, i have purchased some myself recently and are waiting to try them. failing all that, just ask ya local tackle shop bloke, hes bound to know what the squid like in ur area..... cheers.
Remember you cant keep all of the squid happy all of the time, only some of the squid some of the time...
