If I hook a kingy, landing it will be the easy bit (either landing net, grab the tail, or lip grips) - keeping it away from the reef after hookup will be the hard part. Some of my fellow kayak fishers caught 2 kingies at 50-55cm long (legal size in NSW is 60cm), and had no problems getting them aboard.
