Almost the same. The Japanese one is Sepioteuthis lessoniana while the Aussie one is Sepioteuthis australis



Don't know what the difference is but they do look exactly the same.



   



Looking at the comments on here, I think the Japanese ones are more agressive. Last weekend we only used 3.5 egis and still got some that weighed in under 100g. You guys seem to use small egis alot more than we do.
