it will be fine, you might find it a bit harder to control lighter egis. the zaltz is a pretty good rod for the money, a friend of mine recently got one from HK and ive had a play with it. you wont be dissapointed. if you really are keen on sticking a lighter rod then look at the yamashita naory rods they are about $300+ and the only place ive seen them is at fish head in brisbane. nice rod but too light imho as it designed more for aarow squid
