Some ideas I have:
I have some squid jigs covered in silk for the soft texture, but they don't seem to work as good as the hard plastic 3.5 inch yo-zuri jigs.
They sell squid jigs that you can put bait inside of it, it opens like a clamshell. I say someone try that on the FF boat next to me but that didn't seem to work for him.
For the soft plastics I think that you might be more successful if you could figure out a way to give it neutral bouyancy.
I've thought about tying a squid fly around a squid hook, I might do that for next season because I have to learn hot to tie flies first. LOL can you imagine fly fishing for squid?
