Any pole will do and you don't need anything except for a jig really. Depending on what jig you use, if it's unweighted, most people will put a small ball weight on a bit of a leader below the jig. I personally prefer the weighted jigs. Might want to use a light trout rod if you have one.



I might be heading out soon to try the summer squid. Anybody head out recently and catch? Hopefully this winter will be better than last.
