Sea Robins are actually pretty good if you pan-fry the fillets. The belly strips also make excellent fluke bait.
In terms of the attractant to spread on the jigs, try Smelly Jelly in Bunker or Spearing. They both work pretty good, from what I've heard... You can buy it at a few tackle shops in Middletown/Newport.
