Hi everyone I am new here....My name is Lia and I just started going for squid 2 yrs ago. I go about twice a yr off the bridge. I live about 1 1/2hrs away so mostly when I make the drive I go for scup. I just mainly go to get enough for a dinner..nothing like fresh seafood. I'm not one to pack my freezer....I'm happy with 10-20 squid.
I'm thinking of making the drive out tomorrow...hopefully I have some luck with the squid....and then will try and see if I can catch some scup to fry up for dinner........are you having any luck with the scup or is it still too early?
Is there a shop where you can recommend in the are to buy jigs? I know of the one across the street from adirondeck pizza joint....is there another?
Thanks for any help you can offer me.
my friend caught some scup in jamestown... decent size too... i'm pretty sure they're in... weather seems unsettled for this week though... i can honestly say stop by your local walmart or benny's store for some hooks and sinkers and bring a variety of bait, sometimes they're picky... either squid, sea worms, or clam tongue... good luck!
