[quote name='chopper' post='15087' date='May 12 2009, 02:16 PM']That's got to be one incredible ray. I've been fishing Narraganset Bay for over 40 years and never even heard of anything like it. Please, if anyone actually has a picture, post it.
Ps. I've heard that rays feed heavily on the squid that die after spawning so, if there was a monster around, its conceivable it would be in the area.

I was on the GI gridge sat night from 10pm - 2am. Someone had a ray on the sidewalk, middle of the bridge. Everyone was checking iy out. I'm not sure of the weight, but it was around the size of a trash can lid. It had to be around 25" around and appeared to be about 3 - 4" thick. I fished over by the wall with some friends I've met from here. Nodda, not one squid caught. We did see some huge females I believe schooling around under the massive bait ball we created. Maybe next week we'll have better luck.
