Hey Folks,
I meant to post something to this topic but posted it as a new one by mistake so here it is agian . . .Has anyone else been watching the water temps at the Newport NOAA station?

A few days ago the temps were climbing rapidly and steadily with just some minor fluctuations due to tides. I thought the water would be hitting 50°F very soon. Now, over the past couple of days the temp has actually dropped a bit. Does anyone know if the temp needs to hang around the 50° mark vs just hit that number for a short time? Also, with no major storms in the Newport area why woulod the temp drop when the air is warming up? I was trying to plan around it for my first trip but now I'm just gonna go no matter what.
