Pulau Sibu/sibu Kelong ...
#1
Hi ppl, i have just came back from my Fishing Trip at Pulau Sibu in Malaysia. I caught about 10 Squids during the trip andi will share with you some information. However, if you have any tips or information, also please share with meSmile Thanks ....

Basically, i went to Pulau Sibu for Fishig on 14 March 2009 to 16 March 2009. We stayed on Ah You Kelong located in Pulau Sibu. I used my Yamashita and Yo-Zuri Squid Jigs over there. My two Yamashita Squid Jigs were in Size 2.0(Pink) whereas my two Yo-Zuri Shrimp Hunter were Colours: GSOT and BOIL.

When we reached the Kelong, it was during the day and i started using my Yo-Zuri Shrimp Hunter GSOT. I caught 2 Squids within an hour and it was quite an achievement for meSmile. However, i lost my GSOT due to Sangkot after that. So frustrated man ! Then at night, i used my Pink Yamashita, Size 2.0 and caught another 3 Squids. The next day, i played with Sabiki fishing during the day and caught another 2 Squid using my Pink Yamashita at night. The next morning, i started Squidding at 5am until 10am, and i got 3 Squids within the 5 hours.

I feel that Size 2.0 and 2.5 works best in Malaysian waters. I am not sure how you ppl feel about it <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

But i feel that Size 3.0 or larger is too big for Smaller or Shy and Timid Squids and they might not dare to take the Jig, resulting in reduced Catch Rate. While Size 1.8 is too small, some Squids might not be able to see it or slightly larger Squids might not feel like taking it if there are other slightly larger Jigs or Shrimps out there.

I feel that Size 2.0 is the best as the Squids in Pulau Sibu, Malaysian Waters, are not that big. They will dare to take the Jig because it is small, yet not too small. They will feel that it is very young and weak(Since it is slightly smaller) and hence, they will not hesitate to attack it. Size 2.5 is the largest i would use. It is slightly larger, but not too large. Just nice, i would say but not as good as Size 2.0 since it is just abit smaller ...

Thats all for my sharing. Please feel free to ask me questions. At the same time, i would also like some ppl to give me tips on their experience on Squidding. ThanksSmile ...
