Gday 'Jazman'
Mate most of my jigging is easy easy some times like today I will jig non stop for over four hours or more so I couldn't handle going crazy like some of the clips you see on you tube. Every now and again as you know the daiwa have the rattle I will give it some sharp jerks I dont know if the rattle does anything but I think it does . My jigging technique is with the tip down at my toes nearly touching the water and gentle but jerky jigs back. I need to get a small rod for my kayak to do the same technique I am used to . I think I got into that habbit from mainly squidding from the bridge leaning over rod dangling over and casting out and twitching back .It is funny as I used to only use little jigs like I caught seven of today catch on but since we have been having the windy weather I have gone to 3.5 and stayed with it as i like to cast out far and jig back and really cover the deeper water compared to like today casting out the little jigs and slowly slowly letting the jig sink I like it for close in jigging even better if the water is clear and I can see the jig sink. But I think I like the bigger jigs and knowing that when i do jig back that it still stays down compared to the smaller jigs so light when I jig back they rise to quick . But in saying that the good old small jig did the damage today .Jazzman what is your prefered jigging technique do you jig from the side or do you ever jig with the tip down at your feet . ? I still like jigging from the side aswell .
Cheers Ben
