Great to see you are enjoying your squidding mate, there is nothing else quite like it <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> I have got that flame coloured jig in size 3, one of my faves. Have you seen the Japanese squidding movies on youtube where they use the really violent jigging action? I think that is what the proper squidding rods are more designed to do, do you ever work your jig this way? 90% of the squid I get are a a jig mooched along slow and deep.
Check out the way this guy flogs his jig!

I'd like to give that technique a bit more of a go.
I am seriously tempted to get one of those gladiator rods, but I'm not sure if I will get enough use out of it to justify the purchase. Living in Canberra I am about 2 hours from the coast, and have been splitting my weekend trips between the coast and Jindabyne in the snowies. So I only get a chance to go squidding once every 2 or so weeks......I used to go 3 or more times a week when I lived in Melbourne! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
