New To Squid
#1
hi there peeps! what a great site !

i been reading and gathering heaps of info. iv been catching squid about 3-4 occasions about 2 years ago with my dad... usually at mornington pier, and we catch like 10-20 or so of them... decent size. its been a while now and im back into the scene. thought i do some research first though. well back then we used a 20 dollar rod from k-mart and jigs. we just throw it down, move it abit and catch afew. now... i want to learn the real way. and ofcourse catch a bigger than average.

i would like to know, would those cheap rods be able to handle abit bigger than average squid... or will i need those long ass rods that i see people have ???

typically for a decent squid what size jig am i looking at that will catch average to big size and typically what type for day and night?

i think im going to try somewhere along melbourne bay, closer abit first... never tried but from what iv read here, there are squid in the bay.

squiding is very exciting for me.

thanks for reading and helping

keep up the work with the site.
