Have been down to jig at Redondo twice this week.
First was Tuesday night, nobody else jigging, no activity.
Then last night, Thursday, there were plenty of small, summer squid. Reports that 6am jigging was *very* successful, but I wasn't there myself. Jigged from about 5pm-12:30. Either my wrist action and jigs aren't what they're looking for, but I enjoyed myself and came home with enough for dinner for 2 (and 5 rock crab). Others on pier were doing either better or worse than me... no seeming pattern. Floodlights after dark didn't seem to help the catch any, but oh boy was it fun to see all the squid swimming around down there! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Lots of herring, too. (All the Dungeness I saw caught, and there were some BIG ones, were all female, of course.)
Going down there again this afternoon. If you see me, say hello! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I'm wearing a Writer's Guild tshirt. Oh, and I'm a chubby female white chick. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' /> Probably with cap.
PS: lost one of my lighted Marinettis on the gorramn cable underneath the water at the south end of the dock, hmmph. But the squid didn't respond to any of the lighted ones, anyhow.
