how steamed up would you guys be if you heard that some fishermen are keeping tight lips about certain fishing spots to divert other people from fishing at those hot spots? last year i heard rumors that sakonnet point was off limits to fishing. now i hear rumors that it was never fenced off from public access. i heard that some people caught a lot of squid there by snagging and using scoop nets.
I don't even bother getting pissed about that kinda stuff anymore. As a member on several fishing boards, i'm used to people posting crap reports...especially when it comes to revealing spots. I can't tell you how pissed I used to get when people would post "yeah we killed them today at spot X" What's the point of posting a fishing report if you won't say what worked or where you caught em. I can see certain hot spots that you've done your homework researching all sorts of stuff to find the fish and not wanting to give it up. I have seen several posts where someone points out their honey hole and literally the next day, that spot gets blown up by 10 boats. It's the way it goes. If it bothers you, find your own sweet spot and keep it a secret.
