Sorry Tatonka but I have kept lorikeets ,parakeets ,& parrots. The Parrots in Australia are the only birds known that can crack a macadamia nut !This is because they are unique in having a beak where both the upper & lower sections are articulated enabling them to exert trememdous pressure. They can ,if so inclined ,crack the bones in your fingers & toes ! A squid bite is like a loves kiss compared to a Parrot bite !
I' have been bitten in the face by a big red Macaw and really didnât enjoy the experience. When I was bitten by a small squid it actually broke the surface of my skin and surprised the hell out of me how much it could pinch. I suppose your right certain species of birds/parrots can really exert a lot of pressure, especially those adapted to break macadamia nuts.
I guess Iâm wondering how strong the bite from a giant squid would be. And, do parrots eat squid?
