I seem to remember seeing a thread about a t-shirt somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyways, here's a design I did - it's still a rough draft, so it looks a little messy. (I can change the words) Any suggestions? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Maybe not New Port,,, but very, very close this morning. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
No bucket loads,, enough for a meal though (11 total). Was hit & run / slow & none. Just as the sky was lighting up.
Someone experienced may have done better. I'm just a nimrod at squidding w/ R&R.
About 150 yds off a rocky striper shoreline in S. County.
Traded a Yak for anouther Canoe and just had to try it out.
Was actually hoping for stripers on the flyrod,,, nothing. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
All I had for squid was a (heavy) freshwater rod with a green yozuri(?).
Had planned on trying for some Tog too, but never did.
Hopping to go again Monday/Tuesday morning. If I get more I'll be sure and post a pic.

First time user on this site. I also went last nite between 9-10 PM. Saw small schools of them but they were not taking the jig. Newport, RI navy base

Last nite between 9-10:30 there was a spike in water temp. it rose and fell dramtically (from 45.4 and back down to 44)with the peak over 48 degrees. It is climbing quickly today and already approaching 48.
Thanks to all the newbies posting intel. I for one (want to ) believe you and am glad you are here giving info. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Just got back from fishing since Friday. I didn't catch a thing <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . There were a few swimming aroung but nothing was biting for me and many others.
There were two guys who did catch a few. They said a small school came in and then quickly left. They were fishing to the side and had their generator running.
NP. I think I'm gonna go buy a Coleman and head back again tonight, give it another shot... I don't have to head out for work for a couple days <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.
BTW, I just read the story about the melting rope on the Coleman- any suggestions on a good rope to get that won't melt through? Thanks.

WHEEEEEEE squid are in! I might be going today or tomorrow. If there are a few straggling in now, does that mean the rest are heading in within the next few days, or is it more gradual??
I was there last year and the year before but never caught much... max 6-7 squid per trip. How the heck to people manage to fill buckets?!?!?! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
...done ranting. don't listen to me. :3
KGJ - the only ropes that melt are the nylon or plastic-ish ones, so something like a clothesline shouldn't melt since its made of cotton. On the other hand, it might go up in flames instead. (you never know.)

Hmmm... could work. since it's a little late for this year, maybe I'll do something like this next year and bring them to the bridge. Could be fun. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
