Yo-Zuri Super shrimp hunter jig!
It is a prawn imitation jig like no other you have ever seen. It has feathers for feet that walk(due to water surface drag) just like the legs of a real prawn and comes in colours that youve never seen before, such as brown. These things are so lifelike!

Hi Adam,
I bought some black magic hooks. They were $6 for a box of 30 hooks. I also got some fly-tying materials which was about 25% off i think. I used to be very keen of fly fishing but i don't go much these days.
I have enough squid jigs to last me a few years so i didn't buy any. i rarely lose jigs because i guess i fish with slow sinking jigs. plus i often fish the jigs under floats. Also i can go snorkelling in summer and get a few free jigs! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

yep, checked em out again today! they were about $26..
i picked up some more normal squidjigs and baited jigs..and a surf rod also..
i fish with a mate who uses those fancy jigs, I use the $5.oo specials, His $25 jigs look the part, but we catch about the same amount of squid. we fish side by side quite often and usually end up about 50 /50.I think the $25 jigs would last a lot longer than the $5 ones, but would hurt a bit more when you loose 1.

holly cow dung 26 bucks for a squid jig some one out there is making big bucks
i dont think 26 dollars is worth it when i started fishing for squid i caught all my squid on jigs from kmart .the only reason i changed because the better made jigs are now on sale frequently .so i buy a few ,now my mates think i have shares in atackle shop

i'm gona go down to a fishing shop on keilor rd to check out these jigs. i heard the best of them. my gf's dad bought a brown one used it off san remo pier landed 3 decent sized calamari under the second light pole
pat.
From my own experience (from shore, for bait) it really depends on where you're jigging. At some of the standard sydney harbour spots a good jig makes all the difference. There's a lot of timid squid and often cheaper jigs are no use out there at all - squid are just not interested.
That said, in areas outside of sydney (presumably less jigged) jigging is just as good with $5 jigs as they are with the YoZuris.
Although I'm sure times/tides have been discussed (and debated) many times, I think the quality (and action) of the jig becomes a greater requirement if you are fishing outside optimal conditions.

i think bat man is right. in busy areas squid are fussier. that is when the jig is more important. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':beer' />

Ha bought myself a yo zuri Shrimp Hunter Today..... pink and yellow, size 3.0 perfect for rabid bay area the sales dude told me 3.5 wasa good all round jig, but he said that the 3.0 were good for down that way... something interesting though, one of the barbs sticks straight out horizontally to the jig like it hasnt been bent up..... is this a fault in my $20 jig or a deliberate reveloutionary technique??? <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wh' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':au:' />
Remember you cant keep all of the squid happy all of the time, only some of the squid some of the time...

I think your $20 jig is faulty just bend it to where it should be
hello!
glad to inform you that my shrimp hunter(pink&yellow) cought nine squid, while my friend was using linneaeffe squid jig (blue) and cought none, and my other friend was using yo-zuri jig (green) cought 4 squid.
