No definitely go to the show. I went yesterday and loved it. It is the most specific fishing show ever! Nothing but saltwater fishing stuff, including some squid gear. Saw Edwards Tackle there from Newport and they had a few Yozuri jigs on the wall.
Also talked with the fly tyers and learned about flies to use for squidding. That was new to me.
As for deals you might find that some dealers will discount to avoid taking the stuff back home. They have to pack it up, bring it home and then restock it again so it become easier to mark it down a little and sell it today!!!!

Sounds good. I'm definately down to do that. Frances Fleet is a pretty big boat, right? I think i've actually fished for fluke on it before. Have you squid on FF before? If so, is there a big difference on boat rather than on land.. or bridge is should say?

The show was awsome. I also picked up 10 jigs of the type in the boxes that were pictured above. Did a little better on price.
Got 2 new St Croix premier casting rods and matching shimano calcutta 400b reels. a renewla subscrition to The Fisherman (the 2 things I NEEDED) and tons of plugs (some for you Tony). Yeah I saw the afterhours booth. his plugs started a $22, and went to $44. I kept walking. Saltybuggers are pretty too and his started at $18, Got a cpl from RI Popper. I buy plugs to fish with, not admire and I find that once you pay enough $10-15 to get thru wired plugs with good hooks and finishes the rest is just for hooking fishermen.

What did you pay for the calcuttas? I fish almost exclusively with Calcutta 400TE's and Quantum Cabo's. Well at least, on the salt water thats what I use. I swear by them both. Wish I could've made it to the show. My buddy Toby was doing demonstrations up there.
