Onset (Wareham) was decent last weekend. Friday nite yielded 29 of the biggest squid I've seen -up to 24 inches! (body). Sat 32 but smaller, sunday 12 (windy and cold)

"And if you’ve had a case of squid envy as reports of a glut of these cephalopods in Rhode Island and the Cape continue, don’t fret – they’ve arrived in these parts as fisherman have been jigging them up all week off of piers in Plymouth."

"From the Plymouth Harbormaster came news of kids who have been jigging up squid all week from the floats and piers of Plymouth, especially the Town Pier. "

Hello Squiders,

I haven't fished for over a week and with the weekend here I'm wondering if anyone has more updated info? I'm on the Northshore of Boston, but other than a rumor about Beverly, I'm thinking of heading to the Plymouth area. Does anyone have any details on Plymouth? Tides, Time of Day or Night being better? Is there a good bait & tackle shop to call? Or maybe the Harbormaster?

I'll call around about Boston and points north and update with any info I find.

I do not know that squid ever ventured this far north.. or their occurances are a standard.. but i can tell ya.. the best thing is to try it out yourself.. pick a spot.. got a fish, whether you run into fish, mollusca or crustaceans.. an outing is still an outing.

but if its squid ya want.. this weekends tides are the best.. at night. just find a light near open moving water.. im sure you'll find squid.
