Giant Squids In Asturias (carrandi Trench)
#1
A group from the Spanish production company Transglobe Films is undertaking a campaign in search of the legendary giant squid in the depths of the Carrandi trench. To achieve their objective, they will have to overcome innumerable obstacles. But down there, in the depths of .Carrandi, the elusive Architeuthis silently prowl. And the Kraken Project is determined to film them for the first time in history.

A Giant Squid museum is being built in Asturias, where all the giant squids caught in the last years will be shown, in Asturias giant squids have been just so common through its history that there is even a local name for them.

Since 1967, over 20 giant squids have been found in the Asturian beaches, a lot of them alive!. In recent times, and due to the high interest in these animals, all the new squids found are kept in "CEPESMA" and shown freely to the public.

It has been found the larges Taningia danae squid in the world, with 10 meters length !!! (and still considered a child!).

No coast around the world is so productive in giant squids.

Here is a pic of one of these giant squids, kept in the CEPESMA (a government agency). (the article is in spanish).

The CEPESMA has the wolrd largest collection of giant squids, and best kept.
