Um, probably Sandgate or Shorncliffe areas in Brissie.

I guess no reply means no squid <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I'll have to get some gear together for next year.

hi squid ink,

you might have to wait a little while longer...the Qld guys probably haven't seen your message yet.

I am sure they will write back eventually..... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Had a look on the Shorncliffe Pier this arvo and there's no ink stains so ooks unlikely there are any around. Also Browniescoastwatch.com doesn't mention squid so is a shore sign there's none about at the moment. Next year!! Looking forward to a plate piles high with some golden crumbed calamari, some tartare sauce and slice of lemon, and a frosty cold beer.

I would have thought that the northern calamari would be available all year round.

They are fairly closely related to the southern calamari (which can be caught at any time but with a peak time in September).

So don't give up yet! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I'm guessing you're referring to the islands, Macleay, Russell, Lamb, Carragarra etc. Are they plentiful in all of these areas? What kind of bottom do you work? Any info you can give me is appreciated. Thanks for your help.
