I have heard that people can squid in the water near Woods Hole, Mass. Any one wants to share fishing spots?

I heard about squid in Wood Hole, Massachusetts USA , but I have no idea how to get there, the water temp is very warm compare to Cape Cod Canal and other places .

at woodshole you can try to fish near the aquarium they have there.

Supposedly the end fish pier to the right of the aquarium is a good spot. Also I heard of the WHOI docks near the entrance to Eel Pond drawbridge.



I fish Woods Hole every weekend for Striped Bass. I intend to try to catch some squid for live bait (never fished for squid before). Are their any particluar tricks to removing the squid from the jig?

hi jon, if you turn the jig upside down the squid will just fall off. very easy!

Hey guys, I have seen the locals used the special customized squid jigs that has a weight and a glow-in-dark tube. I want to find it so i can outsquid the Vietnamese squidders and the rich boating yuppies. I caught three squids. I want to have more success.



Is there any squidding report around Pocasset? I want to explore other available spots on the cape for fried calmarai and baits. MV is a freaking squid mecca. I loved to jigs for them and catch bass on the beach.

I just got reports for Southeastern Mass. they are starting to show up there. I didn't get the specific location.



Been going through a TON of our weighted "Puget Sound Squid Claw Jigs" and our tiny teasers.

Tried out the commercial fish pier behind the Woods Hole on Saturday night. Only got four squid, but others were doing pretty well. Yo Zuri pink translucent seemed to work best for folks. Word was that it was the first night people had been catching squid in any numbers.

Another sign that things are on the cusp of breaking out in the Falmouth and Mashpee areas is the presence of squid in Woods Hole. Most of the squid boats are hanging around from Cotuit to Hyannis, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any tentacled ones to the west. Jim said that before the blows this week, both boat and shore anglers were taking their share of squid, and with the squid usually come the bass.

I'm thinking of taking the boys down there for some squid action. I don't feel comfortable taking them out on the boat at night time; mother won't allow it. They are 4 and 6 years old. I was planning on taking them to GI or Jamestown, but it's packed like mad down there; plus, my boys are too small to fish off the causeway. I just want a couple hours of action for the boys. Hey there, Squidaholic!

If you'd like to take the lil' guys out, I suggest going to Chatham. I understand it may be a bit of a ride for you, but from what I've been told, it's not nearly as crowded, and the runs are pretty thick.



A friend went down to some bridge by the lighthouse, and said there were only 4 or 5 people there (all well behaved), and he came home, sounding like me, after my first time out; "Oh my God! There were squid everywhere!!!"



Nonetheless, grab the little guys, head over to Clancy's or Wee Packet for some "pre-squidding dinna", and let us know how they're hitting them.

My daughter is 6, and goes to jamestown with me, I make sure she is set up in her own little place, ya know, but over at the DEM dock their aren't too many people, Heard of a few here and there

I hear that the squiding is good right at the fish peir in chatham. Any truth to that? Anyone try woodshole yet? I was thinking next week it should start off.
