Colliers was on fire last night. 2 of us filled 2 80 quart coolers. Have plenty of bait and table fare and plenty to give to family and friends. Fished 20-25.
Get out there while the bite is hot.

Just a note guys, Tomo has Yamashita Naorys on sale for $5.99!! Not a lot of colors left in some sizes but I just loaded up. Lucky gets like fourteen bucks apiece for these deadly little jigs. Tomo says Yamashita is re-doing the Naory line and he is selling off his old stock. Oh yeah, free shipping on orders over a hundred bucks.

In the last few years squid fishing RI picked up in the middle of May to early June. We need warmer water. Anyone who tries tonight wonât need to put them on ice. Theâll be iced before you knock them off your jig! Wind chill in thirties tomorrow.

fwiw, it looks like RI allowed the out of state quarantine order to expire on 5/8.  It isn't in the list of orders that got extended, so it expires today.

I fished from a east facing pier (west wind) with relatively calm conditions in the Narragansett sound of Rhode island for about 2 hours. Caught none and saw none. Usually in season I would have had a decent ball of bait around my underwater light which was not happening last night. A few others tried briefly while I was there also with no results. Worth getting out of the house but I think it definitely still too early.

The RI out of State Quarantine is still in effect. Thanks for the Tomo sale info. What a deal! Ordered several. A friend said very few caught last night at GI. Went today for a short time. Nothing! Not worth the trip yet!

Is there any dock/pier with good lighting for squid fishing around south mass or cape cod area? Would love to try squid fishing for the first time

The checkpoint set up on Route 1 in Westerly has been removed. Any word if the one on Route 95 is still up and running?

All out of state license plates are being directed by the state police to the Jamestown exit just before the Newport Bridge. They will tell them to quarantine for 14 days with a few exceptions.

We went out on Thursday, got 2 buckets each. Better than last week but not good neither, seen way better action.
The squid are mostly small in sizes and the big ones are skinny, not the premium kind caught in past years, these squid consistance with Martha's squid.
So far I only net 120 pounds for the years after 2 trips, not so good.
By the way scups are in now.
