What is the anticipated start of the fall run in RI?

Always a tough one to answer. Fall run in the northeast last year was almost nonexistant. Usually gets going toward the end of Sept-early Oct and can run right through November. I sure hope we get a good one this fall! Sometimes not until mid Oct, depends on a lot and hurricane season can readily affect the squid run like it does other fisheries in the northeast.

Thanks! I never fish for squid in the Fall. Good reference. Hope the good fellow fishermen would shed some lights later when they try.

Jamestown tends to be good from November 1 through the end of November. Thanksgiving week tends to be hot as long as we dont get a cold blast like last year

Water temp is around 60F, has anyone tried yet? Few friends got a few here and there but nothing crazy.

The Edgartown report is encouraging. I went tautog fishing yesterday and it seems to be slowing up next to shore a little and the bass and blues are definitely more sporadic. I'll give it a try at Stonington or Jamestown after this storm passes.

Fellow anglers,
Anyone would like to shed some lights a good spot in James Town for squidding? Was there a few years ago but the search for a spot ended in vain. Much appreciated in advance.

Still on the slow side. Sizes has not changed lots of current and dirty water. If weather dies down over weekend water should clean up and get better by next week

I launched my kayak off Jamestown for tautog at sunrise on Sunday. Noticed there were a couple of huge boats in the distance with bright lights. Not sure if they were squid boats. They were there till around 10AM.
