New to this site and to Squidding. I'm planning my first squid trip next Saturday. Wanted to see if someone with some experience was interested in joining us to show us the ropes! I have a 28' Downeast boat that I keep in New Bedford, and plan on heading up to Colliiers and Lone Rock.

Hi Mate,

We'll be in the area between the 11th and 15th. Don't have any experience catching squid here but caught many in Australia. If you still want company at that time, we'd be happen to buy the fuel. You can write to us at alaskanaturally@yahoo.com

Anthony:

No expert here, but I may well head there next Saturday as well. Drop me an email and perhaps we can coordinate.

My buddies went to Hyannis on Saturday both caught 1 bucket each.

We came down on Sunday, hopping to do better but it didn't work out that way

We end up with half a bucket each. Very big Loligo squid not too many Illex squid

So hopefully they're on there way in, may be in a few days.

What we don't quite understand is why less, if they're on there way in especially

At the beginning of the season they're suppose to get thicker not less.

May some of you knows something we don't, we would like to hear your theory.

Thanks

From boat,

Haven't not fish from pier for a long time

Usually we got at least a couple of buckets per guys. I think party boat is booking for squid fishing

Now.

Edgartown harbormaster reports ink on the docks there, he's gonna try tonight. I was at Stonington, CT Sat. night, no action, a couple of Asian guys there didn't have any either, but they said the tide was wrong, thought they might be in later.

Bring your rain gear.  Wink

Seriously, if this weather doesn't break I'm going to blow a gasket.

Btw, anyone know a good marina to hole up at that's convenient to colliers?  Just thunkin.
