I'm pretty sure the squid, mackerel and stripers have all forgotten the north shore exists.  I've been going out, bouncing from spot to spot in search of something...anything to feel tug on my line with nothing to show for it.  I'll try later today for stripers, maybe this evening for squid.  I'll let you know if I find anything.  Good luck.

Thanks scott I am a bit surprised that they have not shown yet, squid all over the cape.

North shore should be next.  I've had some good trips already and don't feel a pressure

to put more squid in freezer hope you feel the same in a couple weeks.

Thinking of going with Frances fleet squid fishing on Wednesday night (7pm-1am)

Would like to fish with some members on the forum.  As of now 2 ft waves or less

and partially overcast.  Had good time last trip with them and still had 1/2 bucket,

could have done more but just relaxed.

Just to clarify, I didn't catch that squid, a guy I was fishing with did.  My 'woot' icon was meant more as a celebration that once I see the first one caught, others can't be far behind.  That one had a body almost 13" long with big tentacles.  I just got back from the pier, cold and rainy, didn't see any squid caught.  That was caught on a big white Yozuri.  I met a guy who saw it on the forum and thought I caught it so I just wanted to clarify.  There are macs in the area too, I saw a couple nice buckets of them on Sunday morning.  I could only pull off one since I got there a bit late.  It's nice to see things here on the north shore showing signs of heating up.

Slayer   is this BOB?   Wasn't really sure I would hear from you again.

Take those kyaks down to PT Judith and kick ass on squid till you sink

in ink.  You were the one that really got me started catching squid.  Hope

to share the same fishing spot with you again.

You can pretty much count on it.  Good to hear from you, didn't know if you would mind

using your real name.   If you didn't get a chance to get to RI you missed some crazy

squid fishing.  My freezer has a good amount in it, and they were pretty darn good eating.

Sorta surprised me as many of the squid were large to jumbo size.  I am planning on a

couple trips out your way, let you know when I go.  Your one of the GOOD guys.

Thanks

JanZ

Hi JanZ, I've been meaning to start squid fishing, and saw that you sometimes head out to Beverly. I have some jigs coming in the mail, and would love to learn from someone with more experience! Mind if I tag along some time?

C'mon guys your killing me.  I expected to see some fair catches of squid by now.

whats going on did they loose their chart to get to the N.Shore.  Or is everyone

to busy catching flounder, macs and bass, to even be bothered with squid.

The squid are moving slow it seems. Hanging around in RI a lot longer than expected. They will make their way up.

What about those squid eggs, shouldn't they have hatched, thought those were diff

squid and grow fast like big enough to eat in 3-4 weeks.  Water temp Newport 61

boston area 57.   Guess everything is real late this year.

I tried jigging on Nut Island in quincy, but can't say I knew what I was doing so doesnt really count as an accurate report. This was early Sunday morning.. Also went for flounder and no one out there caught anything but a skate in the 4 hours we were there.

Flounder and bass should be at the Nut this week. The wind is Sw wind  this week its a lot better than NE blows we had that muddied the water

Just going to sleep at that time.  Hope to hear a report of squid even if its

just a few.  Slow squidding along the shore in RI. last night, might just have

to give it a try tonight or Sun.
