Where to squid on the Cape?
#81
Headed out to Cape tomorrow, more rumors of squid out there, if not plenty of

other fish to try for.  Going to try to get this forum on my i phone and may be able

to report before I get back in 2 days.

Fished for striper on thursday afternoon and they were in a lot of places chasing sandeels from 60 fow

to 18" of water.  Went to check for squid in Hyannis and water was murky and no squid.  Talked to security

guard there who said people been fishing but have not seen any squid caught.  tried a number of spots

on the bay side around the brewster area and nothing there.  Bait shop said the only squid they've heard

about was in P town.  On the other side went striper fishing again on friday and limited again, none smaller than 30"

then came home as P town was another hour ride in the wrong direction.  Now that I've met up with some old

friends that are residents there, theyb will contact me if they see, hear about any squid.

Thanks, JANZ

Yes, that sound about right

I caught, blues, stripes, blacks, cods, scups and flounder sooooo many fish but no squid.

Let hope squid are on there way .

Or may be the fish ate all the squid.

That explained the masses of fish out there and they love my squid's bait.

Thought you were going to post that the squid have invaded the cape.
Wishful thinking.

Going to canal fri/sat, will let you know how I made out. Might bring a generator because the new lights on the east end suck.

I was hoping your "new" post would hold reports of squid. I hAVE NOT tried
for them in a while but been fishing and everywhere I go I ask about squid
and everyone says no. On the other hand the fishing has been great.

Same here,fishing been awesome!

Squid are dead to me.

They may even be extinct?

The squid in that pic was caught by myself in one

Night. And that a 100 quart cooler.

Glorious yesteryear.

Peace and happiness to all.

Hey, squid have shown upon the Vinyard. Hot action last night on the docks in Edgartown and Menemsha. Large squid in Edgartown, mixed sizes in Menemsha. My buddy got 60 real quick in Edgartown last night and I got 80 in Menemsha. I would suspect that they are in in numbers at Woods Hole also. I think the fall run is a little late, but just starting.
